According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), LED lighting retrofits have the greatest potential impact on energy savings in the United States.
By 2027, LED lighting retrofits could save the equivalent annual electrical output of 44 large electric power plants (1000 megawatts each) and a total savings of more than $30 billion at today’s electricity prices, according to DOE.
A prime example of these type of savings is being demonstrated by Constellation, a leading supplier of power, natural gas and energy products. The company has a wide-ranging portfolio of energy-saving products – none more effective than LED lighting.... More

For many years Linear Fluorescent Lights have been the go-to when it comes to lighting large indoor spaces. Fluorescent lamps are able to convert more input power into visible light than incandescent lamps, which of course made them quickly rise in popularity. They also typically last 10 – 20 times longer than an equivalent incandescent lamp which makes them less expensive to operate in the long run. That aside, there is a new lighting technology on the market now, and it’s giving linear fluorescents a major run for their money.... More

Making decisions about lighting is harder than it’s ever been before, due in part to the high saturation of new Lighting product types and technologies. Unequivocally the latest and greatest of these new lighting technologies is L.E.D., or Light Emitting Diode. As the market is becoming more and more flooded with the latest LED products, it can be difficult for contractors to know exactly how this new technology applies to projects that would normally be done with traditional lighting techniques. So how does one demystify this new technology and make it applicable in the field today?... More
